Echuca

Just two and a half hours from Melbourne in Victoria, is the paddle steamer capital of Australia.... Echuca! Not only renowned for its grand paddles steamers but it is also made a name for itself, as being a fantastic holiday destination.

Back in the days when the paddles steamers where making their way along the Murray River, it was the number on way to transport things from place to place. These days the paddles steamers are still operational at the Port of Echuca so while you are why don’t you come down and learn about the early history from when Echuca was a bustling river port. Out on the calm river system you can also book yourself onto a houseboat to make your way up and down the river or perhaps you would like go fishing, canoeing, water skiing or swimming. With the large gum trees swaying in the breeze, can’t you just imagine yourself sitting on the banks of the river as the kids have a ball playing in the river!

There are many other attractions that Echuca boasts such as the array of different Parks and wetlands that you can wander through.
