Train services run along the Queensland coast from Brisbane to Cairns, through the northern gulf and savannah areas, and west to Charleville, Longreach and Mount Isa. All four corners of Queensland offer a variety of truly fascinating and exciting holiday adventures. So no matter if you are just wanting to jump on board a train to get to your next destination or if you are wanting to embark on a train expedition to explore the rugged country of Queensland, you can book a range of tours with any one of Queensland’s major train companies.

But perhaps you just want to take everything in your own stride, go where you want to go, when you want to go there.... well driving yourself is a very rewarding experience for everyone involved. There are a number of benefits with self-driving and the main is the bonus of not being stuck to an itinerary. You can stay for as long or for as little time as you want in any one place! It is all completely up to you. The main highway that runs along the eastern coastline of Queensland is always maintained, making driving very safe, but you should always keep a watch for alert signs instructing you that you are passing through areas that are highly populated with kangaroos, koala or cattle.

So you have made the decision to holiday on one of Queensland’s spectacular islands and enjoy the activities, entertainment, luxury accommodation and attractions but you are wondering how you are going to get across the coral sea.
