Rainbow Beach

Rainbow Beach can be accessed via Gympie, which is just north of Queensland's Sunshine Coast. This small seaside town is made up of natural attractions, great accommodation, glorious beaches and crystal blue waters. It is set right on the edge of rainbow coloured sand cliffs overlooking the beach and most of the accommodation establishment boast magnificent views.

There are some really great walking trails in and around Rainbow Beach for everyone to enjoy as well as having some excellent 4WD tracks to go exploring on that leads through the Great Sandy National Park. The activities in Rainbow Beach are endless, such as hang gliding, para gliding, scenic joy flights, swimming, bushwalking and fishing.

Just north of Rainbow Beach is Inskip Point, which is the access point to Fraser Island where you can jump on board the ferry across to the island. Inskip Point has many great camp grounds, some with full amenities and located right on the water’s edge. Full asleep to the sound of the crashing waves and wake up to a sunrise that you will never forget.

The beach at Rainbow is patrolled by the local lifesavers all year round, and also provides some great opportunities for catching the perfect wave. Surfing at Rainbow Beach is readily accessible and many people come from the surrounding towns and city to experience it. You can also take a short drive down the beach ( if you have a 4WD) to a place called Double Island Point, where there are some picturesque camping grounds, great spots for fishing and the most incredible waves for surfing.

The main strip located in Rainbow Beach is where you can find a number of shops, cafes, pizza parlours, a supermarket, takeaways and just bottle shop as well as a pub where they serve a great meal. You will find that everything that you need when you are on holidays at Rainbow Beach is all within walking distance from where ever you are staying. Travel along Teewah Beach north from Noosa, which is just south of Rainbow Beach which can make for a great day out for the whole family as you can swim and bath in crystal clear waters that are so clean you can drink it straight from your hand.
