Great Keppel Island

Great Keppel Island, known to the Aboriginal people as Wappaburra which means 'resting place' takes on the name splendidly as you laze your days away on the pristine beaches and swimming in the crystal blue waters. Monkey Beach, just 30 minutes from the island resort is one of the best places to snorkel or dive or you can join a daily trip to the reefs!! There are also heaps of walking tracks for anyone wanting to get in touch with nature as there is an abundance of birdlife and wildlife that call Great Keppel Island their home. The two best walks on the island are the Bald Rock Point Walk and the Mt Windham Walk. The Bald Rock Point Walk is a rather strenuous walk which will really get anyone’s blood pumping through their veins and the Mt Windham Walk offers its walkers beautiful scenery as you enjoy a leisurely walk.
