The "top end" as it is known in Australia, and the Northern Territory, as it is officially known, is where you can find some of Australia's best known tourist attractions., these include Ayres Rock or Uluru which is its Aboriginal name, the magnificent Kakadu National Park with its sensational scenery and aboriginal cave paintings, the Litchfield National Park which is so close to the capital of Darwin, Katherine Gorge with its towering sandstone canyons, Kings Canyon and Alice Springs all are part of the never ending majesty of the Australian outback.

Alice Springs is almost at the geographical center of Australia and is an ideal base from which to explore the attractions found in the center of the country. Its major local attractions include the strkly beautiful MacDonnell Ranges and chasms of Kings Canyon.
