The Entrance is recognised as 'The Pelican Capital of Australia' as the town has taken an active role in ensuring the survival of these precious animals. Many pelicans get caught in fishing line, or suffer from other medical conditions, and having this daily feeding session lets the guides check the birds out and keep an eye on them.
