Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is located in New South Wales, and is an area of wineries, mountains and historic towns. The Hunter Valley stretches inland from Newcastle through the towns of Maitland, Singleton and to the Upper Hunter. The Hunter Valley extends about 150 km, and within the Hunter Valley you can find wineries, national parks, and beautiful lakes.

The Hunter is a diverse region, consisting of coast and country, beaches and mountains, wilderness and wineries. It is here that you can drive through peaceful country towns and charming cities, take a drive along the coast line and visit some of Australia’s most glorious towns and cities such as Newcastle and Singleton.  You can witness some of the most breathtaking scenery that Australia has to offer, along with sampling some of Australia’s finest wines every produced. The Hunter Valley is made of seven areas, including Upper Hunter, Barrington Tops, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Singleton, Maitland Hunter Valley and the Hunter Valley Wine Country.

Lake Macquarie is Australia’s largest coastal salt water lake, is one of the picturesque places that is included in the Hunter Valley region.  It is surrounded by beautiful surf beaches and the Watagan Mountains, providing visitors not only with fantastic walks and hiking opportunities but the surfing conditions are perfect for anyone chasing an excellent wave or two. 
Newcastle is a city that offers pristine beaches and scenic coastal walks along with excellent shopping, entertainment and luxury accommodation.  Visit the sights, see the attractions and experience the atmosphere that is Newcastle.
